How We Calculate Rankings
Our 2026 fantasy football rankings use Value-Based Drafting (VBD), which measures each player's projected fantasy points above a position-specific replacement baseline.
Player projections are generated by ElasticNet (WR, RB, TE) and RidgeCV (QB) regression models trained on 16 seasons (2010-2025) of historical NFL data. Features include volume metrics, efficiency stats, advanced metrics from Next Gen Stats and Pro Football Reference, age, and QB context for skill positions.

2026 Rankings FAQ
Who is the projected No. 1 overall pick in 2026 fantasy football?
According to DraftAI's machine learning model, Bijan Robinson (ATL, RB) is the projected No. 1 overall pick in 2026 PPR leagues, with 348.7 projected fantasy points and a VBD score of 219.0.
What is Value-Based Drafting (VBD)?
Value-Based Drafting ranks players by how many fantasy points they are projected to score above a replacement-level player at the same position, rather than by raw point totals. This is why a running back and a quarterback with similar projected totals can rank very differently: replacement-level quarterbacks are much easier to find on waivers. VBD is the standard method for turning projections into draft-day decisions.
How often are DraftAI's rankings updated?
Every morning. An automated pipeline refreshes projections daily, blends them with current market consensus (ADP) from multiple draft platforms, and re-runs the value calculations, so the board reflects the latest injury news, depth-chart changes, and draft-market movement.
Which scoring formats do these rankings support?
PPR, half-PPR, standard, and TE-premium scoring for 8, 10, 12, and 14-team leagues: 128 league configurations in total. The table on this page shows the PPR 12-team board.
Are DraftAI's rankings free?
Yes. Rankings, position projections, and the draft board are free. DraftAI Pro adds live draft sync with Sleeper and Yahoo, auction values, and the trade analyzer.
